Epicinium (2020)

Epicinium is a free strategy game I worked on while working for A Bunch of Hacks!

When I came onto the team there were already some basic assets, but I redesigned a lot for clarity, the buildings, tiles, environmental assets and the UX/UI. I did all the visual work, including the illustration featured in the trailer and title screen. I also managed the social media posts, created the graphics/videos for them and the trailer was made by me as well!

The illustration and its progress work have been linked earlier, but feel free to check out some of the earlier mentioned miscellaneous Epicinium work as well!

Photopsia (2018)

Photopsia: The Girl That Saw Stars is a personal project I did mostly by myself during my final year at the HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht.

It’s a short horror visual novel based on the phenomenon of photopsia, made in Ren’Py. The current version only contains the first day and night, it’s on hold as I want to overhaul it and remake it in the Unity Engine.

Other than the audio, the coding, writing, and visuals have all been made by me.
The majority of audio in this version was created by Tyas van den Bergh, who you can find over at his website; Sound Potion!

This old version is still available over at Itch.io, for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Eemland Educative Escape Room (2017)

A group project for the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht and Eemland Library in Amersfoort.

For this project, the assignment was to create an educative Escape Room that could be played by groups of a maximum of 30 children and two narratives for two target audiences; children and young teenagers.
Together with the other students I’ve worked on designing the setting, narratives, environment, (A/V) graphics.
Although I’ve been involved in a bit of everything, I’ve mostly focused on the narrative, graphics and animation for the younger age group.

Some relevant work can be found over at my Gallery, though most can be found over at my ArtStation.

Attuned: A Skyterra Adventure (2016)

A group project for the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht’s Innovatiestudio.

We were given the assignment to create a game set in one of their IPs, a world which was inhabited by plant/robot symbiotes.
The game ended up being pretty short but fun experience, with a big focus on audio as we had an audio designer working with us.
I did a lot of creature design work for this game, some of which you can find over at my Gallery and, mostly, on my ArtStation.

While a build of the game can also be found and played over here on Google Drive, you’ll need to have an Xbox 360 controller to play it.
